Milan Delachaise Cultural District

Within the boundaries of the neighborhood association is the Milan Delachaise Cultural District.

The primary goal of cultural districts is to revitalize the communities and contribute to the lives and livelihoods of the citizens by creating locally driven hubs of cultural activity.  The program provides an incentive for communities to create or rebuild cultural destinations. One of the main benefits of the cultural district is state historic tax credits for renovating historic structures (the building must be over 50 years of age from current year) within the district.

The cultural district program is a state sponsored program led by the Louisiana Office of Cultural Development.  To find out more about cultural districts, below are some links to the state and city websites.
